CapriSun Bag Tutorial!

Have you ever seen these things and thought...I wanna make one!

So I finally did, and let me tell you, the KIDS sure had fun drinking the CAPRISUNS to make the quota for the bag!! :)

Step #1 - Stitch (I zig-zagged) a few pouches together, down the sides.

I actually made 2 rows of 3 for each side and 1 for the bottom.

Step #2 - Stitch 2 on top of each other for the sides. (You'll need 2 of these)

Step #3 - Stitch down the sides, with both edges facing out for the side edge.

Step #4 - It will look similar to this.

Step #5 - Stitch the Bottom piece onto the bag.
Line up the edges on one side and stitch.
Stitch along the side edges.
Stitch along the other bottom side. (There will be some leftover)

NOTE* I didn't worry about getting right to the edges, as we are using ours as a Swim/Water-play bag!

So, trim it of like this.

Step #6 - Now, for the Handle, Stitch how ever many you desire for the length of handle you want, stitching the top of a pouch to the bottom of another pouch.

I used 5 pouches per strap.

Step #7 - Fold it in half and stitch down the edge.
Then, attatch the handles where you desire on your bag.

NOTE* I sewed my handles on after sewing the bag together, but I would advise sewing them on before sewing the sides together.

NOTE* I used 24 CAPRISUN Pouches to create this bag!

Now, throw on a swimsuit and hit the beach, lake, pool, party (or make one for a gift!)! Just ENJOY!! :)

Summer Fun...Water!!

I love when it gets warm enough to go BAREFOOT and wear FLIP-FLOPS!!

I also totally LOVE this color of NAIL-POLISH!!!
I don't care for a lot of Bling, yet I do enjoy a bit of GLITTER!

We also love to take advantage of our public library's Summer Story time!

Last week, they taught us about the effects water has in science. They did a few experiments and the kids' got to make these COOL boats that shoot across the water! They had fun racing them!

To make some of your own here is a list of
SUPPLIES:
Balloon
Styrofoam Tray
Pair of Scissors

Instructions - Poke 2 Slits and make a Cut in the back center part of the boat,
then Blow up the Balloon and Slide it through the Slit. Sit the boat in the water and watch it race!!

Here's Savannah, Sicily & Scottland racing their boats with their good friends!

ENJOY YOUR SUMMER...and don't forget to PLAY IN THE WATER!!:)

Fabric Flowers & Sunshine...of course!

It's really starting to get a bit warm around here, so when you find some shade you enjoy it!! All except Sophie that is! As you can see she wasn't feeling so photogenic at this moment!

At least Sicily & Savannah are smiling as they swing away! :)

Here amongst the Hollyhocks are a sample of the FABRIC FLOWERS that I made and put for sale on my Etsy shop!

I enjoyed our time spent together with Samantha & Sierra as they traced, cut and matched embellishments for these flowers. I love you GIRLS!! We pulled a 'really late night' a few weeks back and had fun just gabbing the night away! My good friend Tricia even stopped by for a visit and joined our fun for a bit.

The FABRIC FLOWERS come in an assortment of colors!

And, a variety of embellishments!

Here is a trio of purple flowers on an alligator clip.

I like the colors of this flower, because each petal has a few shades on it!

I hope you are all staying cool, wherever you may be!!

HAPPY SUMMER & SUNSHINE!!

Summer Fun... Jigglers!

Here's a really quick, and not messy Summer Fun Activity!
(and good for you too:)!!)

Jello Jigglers!

I'm sure that most of you have made these (probably, quite often), but, we have not.

Now that it is getting a lot hotter, we are always looking for something COOL to do and eat, and this project fit the bill!!

We just followed the simple rules on the box.

JIGGLERS
2 1/2 C. Boiling Water
2 - 6 oz. pkgs. Jello
Stir till dissolved (approx. 3 min.) and pour into an 9X14 pan.
Chill for 2 1/2 - 3 hours til firm

We then picked some fun shapes and pressed them out as shown, used a spatula to get them out & CHILLED OUT:) !!!

I love to try new things with Jello. Last year I made this really cool layed rainbow jello that was quite cool looking, if I must say so myself:)!

And, if you are wondering what color ours are, we mixed Strawberry & Grape for a lovely Burgandy color and an even better taste! ENJOY!!
